My personal mission in life: To be generous with my time and give as much of it as I can
promoting awareness about various social issues,
spending endless hours volunteering,
making changes towards a better future
by existing as living proof that one person DOES, CAN, and WILL make a difference.
While I am very loyal and committed to the organizations and projects I have been involved with over the years
as a volunteer,it was time to start a new journey.
Last year, my future sister-in-law (Angie) signed up with Team In Training in Irvine
for the Rock N Roll Marathon 2005 to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Seeing how life-changing the experience was for her inspired me to join TNT San Diego
and she continues to be a source of inspiration and motivation.
As a nursing student and future nurse, I came to nursing in hopes to be part of necessary changes-
prioritizing individualized, quality patient-centered care and providing patient and family education.
I look forward to getting involved with LLS and TNT.
I am honored to share the mutual interest to "improve the quality of life of patients and their families"
as stated in the LLS mission.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society mission:
Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma,
and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
My short-term goals as I train for the Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon:
Raise, reach, and exceed my minimum goal amount of $3,000.
Get the info out and share my experience with as many people as I can.
Stay inspired and motivated because people are counting on me, especially Baby Lou and Jesse.
Get fit and trim, follow my exercise regimen, and improve my time and distance weekly.
